new addition

We are expecting a new addition in the family! Don't get me wrong, it's not me who is pregnant but, my SIL in the Philippines. wink* She and her husband (our youngest brother) are expecting a baby girl which will be due in a month time. I am so happy for both of them because my bro really wants to have a child for quite sometime now and here they are looking forward for the big day!
I remember few years back when his wife gave birth to thier first child, (a baby boy) but unfortunately the baby didn't make it alive. He was born premature and died few days later, It was so sad! Anyway, I wish both of them the best of luck and that things goes smoothly for the soon-to-be mom and her angel.

Yesterday i talked to my SIL on the phone and told her that they don't need to worry about getting a crib because i will take care of it. Since christmas is fast approaching, I thought of buying them a new baby crib and Baby Bedding Sets as our presents for the couple. I've seen that Baby Bedding Palace are featuring lots of unique baby beddings made from 100% high quality natural cotton materials. I find it perfect as gifts.

bad news

Hello guys! I apologize for not being able to return your visits as often as I would loved to. I have problems with my computer for a couple of days now and it's still under repair. The technician said it would take approximately three weeks before I could get my computer back. Could you imagine that? Three weeks without my toy.. what a pity! As of now I've no choice except to use hubby's iMac from time to time when writing paid posts but sad to say that I can't stay long. Have a wonderful weekend to all of you & Thank you for stopping by!

no pinas for this year:(

Every summer we used to spent our two months vacation in the tropical islands the Philippines to visit my homeland and of course to see my family as well. But this year it's quite different, hubby and I decided to stay in France for some reasons. First and foremost is because there are works that needs to be done here in priority. We are soon going to have some home renovation and financially would costs us a lot of money. So, I think it is more wiser for the three of us to spent our summer vacation in the Southwestern France rather than travelling at thousand miles away. At least like this, we can saved bucks too. wink*

These past few days we're really busy, we visited a couple of Hardware stores trying to find the materials needed but, as usual nothing suits our needs. For me it's only a waste of time and energy. Now I better try shopping for materials online. What do you think? I've seen that Better Bathrooms launched a new range of value bathrooms packages, available with thier most popular ceramic toilet and basin sets plus a wide choice of bath styles. And hey, not only that! they are also featuring a wide selection of bathroom tiles, furnitures, mirrors, radiators and other accessories at great affordable rates!

Thanks to her Cosmetic Dentist who perform the surgery very successfully. It reminds me of Dr. David Whilhite a Frisco Dentist specializes in Cosmetic and General Dentistry.

no healthcare job for her

I had a long conversation with my sister back home in the Philippines. Her eldest daughter Rhea (my neice) graduated in High School 1st week of this month. Actually, Rhea passed the scholarship exam in college which is a good news for us. She will be able to take up Nursing course at no expense at all, just sad to say that her choice is not on this field. She likes to study Hotel & Restaurant Management (HRM) Course more than anything else! Although I know it would be easier for her to come here in Europe and get healthcare jobs but still, we let her decide and go on with her choice.

money wasters

At this time of economic recession keeping your budget in line isn’t measured by the amount you spend, but by how much you save. Here's a list of 7 money wasters that you should be aware of: Courtesy of (Yahoo Finance)

Cut back on these seven items could help you save roughly $1,000 a year.

1) Bottled Water

Getting your recommended eight glasses of water a day by bottle instead of tap is a huge waste of cash. That buck-a-bottle water you down on a regular basis can really add up.

Potential Savings: Spend $37 to buy a 40-ounce Brita pitcher and filter ($13 at Bed, Bath and Beyond), plus a four-pack of replacement filters ($24), and you'll be able to filter 200 gallons of water. Buy that much water in 24-packs of 16.9-ounce Aquafina bottles at Shop Rite instead, and you’d spend $283.50. Your total savings: $246.50.

2) Extended Warranties

Think twice before you shell out $10 a month for a two-year protection plan on your pricey new BlackBerry. New products tend to malfunction within the manufacturer’s initial warranty period, or well after any extended warranty has expired, says Michael Gartenberg, vice president of strategy and analysis for Interpret LLC, a market researcher. (Most extended warranties exclude accidental damage, too, so you’d still be out of luck if you drop that Blackberry and crack the screen.) To protect yourself, pay with the right credit card. Many credit cards -- including most American Express and MasterCard cards -- double the manufacturer’s warranty on purchases, adding up to another year of free protection.

World's healthiest countries

1) France:

A stellar health care system and clean air landed France on the list. Working against it: the worst wastewater treatment standards of the top 15. Its tuberculosis rate--11 cases per 100,000 people, one of the highest on the list--also held it back. But there's good news for the country's chronically ill; France's high physician density measurement: 3.37 per 1,000 people.

2) Spain:

The country's tuberculosis rate is the highest of all 15 countries, at 21.7 for every 100,000 people. Spain also has one of the highest air pollution estimates on the list. Its physician density, healthy life expectancy and infant mortality rate are average when compared with other countries on the list.

3) The Czech Republic:

Has one of the list’s lowest healthy life expectancies--66 for men and 71 for women. The country’s less than stellar sanitation coverage and its TB prevalence rate, 10.8 per 100,000 people, prevented a higher ranking. Working in its favor? One of the world’s lowest infant mortality rates. In 1990, the number of deaths per 1,000 live births stood at 13. It's now 3.
