medicinal uses of ginger

Ginger is not only an ingredient in many dishes but also classified as a stimulant and carminative and used frequently for dyspepsia and colic. It is frequently employed to disguise the taste of medicines. It may also decrease joint pain from arthritis, though studies on this have been inconsistent, and may have blood thinning and cholesterol lowering properties that may make it useful for treating heart disease.

Ginger compounds are active against a form of diarrhea which is the leading cause of infant death in developing countries. Zingerone is likely to be the active constituent against enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli heat-labile enterotoxin-induced diarrhea. Ginger has also been found effective by treating nausea caused by seasickness, morning sickness & chemotheraphy.

According to the recent study, laughter along with an active sense of humor helps protect against heart attacks. The old saying that "laughter is the best medicine" definitely appears to be true when it comes to protecting our hearts.

So, I think we should try to incorporate laughter into our daily activities just like taking the stairs instead of elevators, watch some funny videos or try to find ways to take ourselves less seriously. lol*
