waiting for after xmas sale!

Christmas celebration is over! Hb, daughter and I had lots of fun despite of the fact that we're only three at home celebrating the réveillon de Nöel. Too bad, I didn't took photos that much because the memory cards I had with my Canon Ixus 980 IS digital camera isn't big enough to hold unlimited photos. I am thinking of buying a new one but I prefer to wait for the big after Christmas sale for some good deals!

seems like yesterday

I remeniscents the day daughter A was born, her Papa always took videos of her petite cherié with his Sony HD camcorder, capturing every moments of her daughter's young and tender age. For me it seems like yesterday. Time really flies huh! Now our baby is grown up into a beautiful young lady and yes, looking back at those times made me realized that JP and I are not getting any younger anymore. Agarayyyy!!

Gaining weight is easy but losing them is one hard thing to do especially for someone like me who's not a sports enthusiast. Actually I love hiking but I've been lazy these past few days due to the cold and freezing weather we had. I know I need to control my eating habit or else I will end up taking diet pills to shed these extras kilos I got.

Switzerland is such a nice country with magnificient mountains (the Swiss Alps) and it's beautiful scenery. And living not far from the Swiss border is an advantage for us, because we can visit there anytime we want to without any visa needed. One of the places I would love to spend christmas is non other than my homeland the Philippines. Christmas plays an important part of the Filipino culture and tradition. Christmas season is celebrated by Filipinos through caroling, and for me it is simply the best!

home repairs

Home repairs and maintenance often costs a lot of money particularly if your property is situated near the beachfront where salty water and humidity is so high. I can see it in our vacation home in PI. Such a pain thinking that every year part of our budget goes to home repairs and maintenance. Last summer we had the house getting re-painted again and had the outdoor and indoor lighting replaced. I hope it would last for a long time.

Quel temps!

Autumn and winter season makes me feel lazy all the time. I hate going outside even for just a short walk unless I don't have any choice at all. It's been few days now that we have frequent rains and winds and of course temperature is going down too. How I wish to be in the tropics right now where I can wear those sexy tops freely without the risk of getting sick. Mais bon c'est la vie! I've notice also that cold days stimulates appetite as well, good thing there's appetite suppressants that helps curb our cravings:)

Family health insurance

Last summer while on vacation in the Philippines, I experienced gum infection problems. I didn't pay much attention to it for I thought there's nothing really serious. But when we return in France the pain never stop bothering me, I decided to see my dentist and had antibiotics for a week. I was also told to return to the clinic 4 times for a thorough check-up which was then followed by several treatments. Luckily, for now this gum infection problem is getting over and I never spent any centavo for all the treatments done. Thanks to our family health insurance who shoulder everything!

Dealing w/ Plantar Fasciitis

I'm not particular of wearing high-heeled shoes but these past few days I noticed severe pain on my left foot mostly when I get off in bed in the morning. At first I thought it was just a mild nail infection but the pain kept bothering me. I'm afraid this might be the so-called Plantar Fasciitis. I browse on the net and read reviews about it trying to find the right medication and treatment but, hubby said it's better to call and see our doctor to know what's exactly going on. Well, let's wait and see.

Meeting w/Nimfa

Yesterday, we had a day trip in the neighboring city visiting my friend Nimfa. Monday she phoned me up and invited us for lunch at her house together with two other filipina ladies. Nimfa is a native Bicolana and a good cook. She's one of my bff living in Belfort which is about 100 kms away from our place. I was glad the weather wasn't that bad enough and JP and Alyssa agreed to came with me. lol* Nimfa cooked our very own pinoy foods and it was all yummy! Everybody had lots of fun, enjoying the sumptious lunch she prepared and the non-stop chikka-han and laughters too. I told them that, it was certainly our last get2gether for the season (autumn & winter) since JP and I avoid travelling by car at this time of year. I felt sad though, because this christmas we couldn't attend this one big Filipino Christmas Party which will be held in Alsace Region:(

French is Fun

When I first came here in France, way back 17 years ago.. it was a lot difficult for me for I can't understand or knew how to speak the French language. Such a bright and sunny day today, temperature was about 15°c just perfect for an afternoon walk. After dropping off Alyssa at a friend's house JP and I went straight to Leroy Merlin to get bathroom lighting fixtures needed at home. Right after, we went to the countryside enjoying a short walk in the woods.

J-Paul and our daughter had the same passion for books, Alyssa surely got the genes from her papa. She loves reading books as well as her papa does. No wonder, at the age of six yrs old.. she already started wearing eyeglasses.

Part of JP's extensive collections were being bought at Amazon books. Of course, until now he still continue with his passion and are glad knowing that he could pass all of these to her one and only chérie.

Daughter Alyssa's birthday is fast approaching, too bad we can't celebrate her birthday at home since it falls on the day of our departure going to the Philippines. I already asked her what gifts she would want us to buy for her birthday, and she replied with a big smile saying she wanted to have several Nintendo DS games. lol* She will be turning 16 yo this month but as you can see she's still playing those stuffs right now.. funny huh* Anyway, I am thingking of buying this cute gold bangle I've seen at Jewel Elegance. I hope, Alyssa will like this beautiful surprise gift!

Good morning everyone! How's your weekend? Ours, was great! We had some French friends who came over yesterday and spent the whole day with us. I've cooked our very own pinoy foods for lunch and glad they all loved it. Oh well, dapat lang noh.. lol* I must admit, pinoy cooking takes a lot of time to prepare.. unlike the french cuisine. wink*

Few days ago, I heard my daughter Alyssa complaining about her Sony Laptop computer being so slow. I told hubby about it and he said that for a three year old computer that she had, it's quite normal that the system is no longer running like new. All it need is a serious ram upgrade for now or else better to buy new one. Last december, hubby is so kind enough to offer me a new Sony laptop computer as my christmas gift. So, I've passed the old laptop I had to my daughter Alyssa but just recently she was complaining because everytime she wants to download music, videos or play on her PC, it is running to slow. Lily-of-the-Valley is one of my favorite flowers due to thier sweet smell and fragrance.
